Dr. Abboud is the Professor and Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics and Adolescent

Medicine at American University of Beirut Medical Center. He is also, the founding and the

current Director of the Pediatric Bone Marrow Program and is currently the interim Director of

Children Cancer Institute of Lebanon. He is an expert on pediatric malignancies and Sickle Cell

Disease. Dr Abboud received the Sickle Cell Disease Association Lifetime Achievement Award

on 2023.He is also a member of the Lancet Commission on Sickle Cell Disease.
