Biography Ahmad Alhuraiji is a hemato-oncologist consultant working in the department of hematology at Kuwait Cancer Control Centre. His main focus of interest is the field of leukemia, myeloproliferative neoplasms, myelodysplastic syndrome and plasma cell disorders. He is involved in education and training of residents of the Kuwaiti hematology residency program and helped establish the adult hematology clinical fellowship program in 2020.

Biography Maria-Victoria Mateos received her medical degree from the University of Valladolid and completed her residency and PhD at the University Hospital of Salamanca. She coordinates the clinical trials unit and directs the Myeloma Program. Dr Mateos has served on the EHA Scientific Program Committee, the ASH Plasma Cell Diseases committee, and is associate editor of Annals of Haematology. She has conducted numerous clinical trials and published over 150 peer-reviewed papers.

He has also worked in Greece and Cyprus and was Associate Professor of Hematology and Chair of the Medical School at the European University of Cyprus. Interests include benign/malignant hematology, transplantation, and cellular therapies.

He also holds a Master’s in Health Research Methodology from McMaster University.
