Scientific Overview

The Kuwait Academy of Rare Disease (KARD), in collaboration with the Kuwait Pediatric Association, is pleased to welcome you to the “Phenylketonuria (PKU) Educational Symposium” (CME Accredited).

The event will take place at the Radisson Blu Hotel Kuwait – Sky Lounge on Tuesday, 12 May 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:45 PM.

This scientific symposium will focus on Phenylketonuria (PKU), a rare inherited metabolic disorder, covering key aspects from pathophysiology and genetics to diagnosis, newborn screening, and lifelong dietary management.

The program will also highlight long-term outcomes, neurocognitive impact, and emerging pharmacological therapies, providing a comprehensive and up-to-date overview of PKU management.

The agenda features expert-led presentations and interactive panel discussions, including real-world perspectives through patient and parent engagement, reinforcing multidisciplinary collaboration and practical clinical insights.
