Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the Workshop Committee, it is my pleasure to invite you to our workshop, ” Nuclear medicine in genitourinary system” on Nov 30th ,2024 at Jumairah hotel, Messilah 1 Hall. The objective of this one-day workshop is to chart a path forward to functional renal imaging. We plan to cover the state of art in nuclear renal imaging and learn from other fields. Toward future clinical use, we will also hear about FDA qualification of imaging biomarkers and other translational challenges. As well as artificial intelligence (AI) applied in Nuclear medicine.
The aim from this workshop is:

To refresh knowledge of renal physiology and how it relates to renogram imaging.

To learn about high quality renogram images in a range of clinical scenarios and special populations such as paediatrics and renal transplant.

To educate the audience about non imaging renal studies (GFR) used to monitor therapy response.
-
To evaluate and enhance the knowledge of PET potentials in renal, bladder and prostate malignancies.
By attending this workshop, you will gain a deeper understanding of Technetium-99m renal tracers as well as positron emission Tomography (PET) studies and you will be able to apply this knowledge to your clinical practice.
This workshop is providing two interactive sessions presented by international speakers to enhance the audience understanding and awareness of possible pitfalls.

Holding a Biomedical Engineering degree, a Master's in Radiophysics & Biophysics & Medical Imaging, and a Doctorate in Medical Imaging (PhD), he brings a wealth of academic achievement to the table. His expertise lies in simplifying complex physics, making it accessible to both Technologists and Radiologists. Currently working with a leading company Sultan United Medical Company, Kuwait. He actively contributes to advancements in medical imaging, embodying a commitment to progress within the field.

After completing MBBS and MD from India, I worked for 8 years in Kuwait . Then did my residency in Nuclear Medicine at Emory University Atlanta (GA) and PET fellowship at Creighton University Omaha( NE). I have been a faculty member in Emory University since 1994 and Professor of Radiology and Imaging Science since 2006. My research interests are imaging of kidneys with radionuclides and Decision support system to help resident doctor and junior physicians in Nuclear Medicine. I have served as board of Directors for 6 years in Intersocietal accreditation committee( IAC) and grant reviewer for NIH and Department of Defense. I am the recipient of " Marshall Brucer Award" from South Eastern Chapter of SNMMI for my contribution to the field of Nuclear Medicine. I am deeply involved in Global Health efforts at Emory University.

Dr. Naser Al Soudan Al Anazi is a senior specialist pediatric urologist. He completed his medical degree at the Arabian Gulf University in Bahrain and completed the Saudi Board of Urology at King Saud University in Riyadh. He then pursued a pediatric urology fellowship at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London, UK and holds the European Academy of Pediatric Urology Fellowship.
Dr. Al Anazi is the Head of the Pediatric Urology Unit at Sabah Al Ahmad Urology Center. He is also a Clinical Tutor for the Kuwait Board of Urology.
Dr. Al Anazi has contributed to the academic community through numerous publications and writing chapters in various medical texts.

I was appointed as a consultant vascular and transplant surgeon in the Royal Free Hospital London in 2012 and was head of department from 2021 to 2023. In 2023 I was invited to Kuwait to work as a transplant surgeon, and am now full time at Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah hospital.
